Luke 2:8-14 (NKJV)

Rev. E. A. EffiomNow there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year. This is true for many reasons. In a dark and scary world such as we live in at the moment, the Christmas story brings us hope and joy.

Imagine, for a moment, the shepherds as they watched over their flocks by night. In a dark, cold night. They may have been filled with fear and confusion as many people are right now. Then suddenly, the angel of The Lord stood before them and the glory of God shone around them. That’s the difference the essence of Christmas brings.

As Christmas draws near, I pray that The Lord will send His messenger to herald the very specific good news that will gladden your heart and give you Joy unspeakable.

Darkness is representative of bad times. In turn, bad times bring fear to the heart. On the contrary, Jesus came to give you abundant life with Joy. The angel said to them “Fear not”. Regardless of how cold and dark the situation maybe around you today, receive the word of the angel (messenger of God) to you today “Fear not for I bring you good tidings of great Joy”

Receive and believe the promise of good tidings for yourself. It is yours. Faith in God’s promises will fill your heart with joy leading you to join the host of heaven in singing “Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth, Peace, Goodwill toward all men

This Friday, December 11th, from 7pm, we shall join with the Angels of God in singing uplifting Christmas Carols to God in the highest. Don’t miss out. Bring a friend along.

Blessings
