Luke 1:34-37 (NKJV)

Rev. E. A. EffiomThen Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”

As the countdown continues towards Christmas, do pause for a moment and think about one very often overlooked significance of Christmas. It was God’s promise to His people fulfilled.

Often, we tend to interpret the delay in receiving answers from God as either an indication that God does not care about us or even more drastically, the devil has won.

Neither is true. God cares very much for you and the devil cannot and will never win in your life.

God made the promise of a savior way back in Genesis 3 right after the fall of man. Yet, it was not until the new testament before it was fulfilled with the birth of Jesus.

Christmas reminds the us that when all hopes appear lost, then God’s faithfulness shows up. He may not come when you expect Him to come. He may not “answer” when you thought He should answer. One thing is sure, He will come through for you and when He does, it will be at the best moment for you.

Today, the Word of God to you is “With God nothing will be impossible”. Believe this for yourself regardless of your circumstances? And respond by faith like Mary – “be it unto me, according to your word.

Today, as you wait on God for an answer, remember He is faithful and will fulfill His precious promise to you. Celebrate Christmas with hope and great expectation with joy.

This Sunday, December 20th, at Nu – Life Church, we shall be celebrating Christmas and The Lord has given me a powerful word for you. Don’t miss it.

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas
